CHNC Annual Symposium

The CHNC Annual Symposium is a yearly conference to highlight the work being done by the consortium and its members as well as provide educational opportunities to support the CHNC mission. It is an inclusive, multidisciplinary meeting including all members of the medical and surgical teams:

Physicians
Advanced Practitioners
Data Coordinators
Leaders from all Disciplines
Surgeons
Respiratory therapy
Therapists
Nursing
Parents
Advocates

We are especially supportive of the trainees to attend and present their research in an inviting and affirming environment.

The Program

Invited Speakers

National experts from a variety of fields speak on relevant topics pertinent to the care of neonates. You may learn about physiology and therapeutics; resources and innovative programs; or a new perspective to approach care.

Main Session

During the symposium main session, our invited speakers are incorporated with other dynamic speakers and presentations that focus on CHNC updates and accomplishments as well as the very best of the submitted abstracts. During this time, the audience will be updated on the state of the consortium as well as about the quality improvement collaboratives and hear from the focus group leaders.

Poster Reception

From the competitive selection process of abstract submissions, the best abstracts are selected for poster presentation at the poster reception. The poster reception is an informal learning and social get-together typically outside of the main session programming. Here we share individual successes in quality improvement projects, basic science research and implementation of innovative programs in a social environment.

Workshops

Registrants can participate in a variety of workshops. These workshops vary from year to year depending on the competitive submission and selection process from CHNC member submissions from. They are interactive, hands-on workshops targeted to the multidiscipline CHNC symposium audience. Workshops include topics such as quality improvement, communication, procedural skills, program development, and leadership proficiency. The goal of these multicenter collaborative workshops is to share knowledge and provide clinicians with implementable practice changes.
