Esophageal Atresia/Tracheoesophageal Fistula (EA/TEF)

This Focus Group is dedicated to exploring research, education, and best practices in caring for infants born with Esophageal Atresia/Tracheoesophageal Fistula (EA/TEF).

With the new addition of EA/TEF specific data elements this working group was established in Fall 2021. Our initial project is an observational study evaluating case-mix and clinical characteristics of patients how these may lead to differences in measured outcomes. Additional studies are planned as more data are collected. We have a multidisciplinary membership, with neonatologists, pediatric surgeons, nurse practitioners, and data abstractors.

Mission & Goals

The mission of this group is to advance the knowledge and care of patients with EA/TEF through analysis within the CHND as well as exploring best practices, education, variations in care, and risk adjusted outcomes.
